I was quite excited to purchase this system only to get burned in the end. After 11 months, the disk drive stopped working. Thankfully, the warranty kicked in.Another 12 months, the disk drive stopped working again. This time, there is no warranty and Sony is asking for $180 to fix it. This system should work more than 23 months.GARBAGE.
I got the 40gb version over 1 and 1/2 years ago, no complains, runs like a champ, what else can I say, oh mgs4= SICK, killzone= SICK, battlefield= SICK, the list goes on. oh I love the bluray, quality is phenomenal, pairs with any blutooth headset (SICK), comes with wifi wich is great I have no probs, I have FIOS 20/20 running 2 laptops, 1 desktop, and the ps3 with no probs. ah, recently upgraded the hdd with no probs either, should I keep going.BUY IT.

i purchased my ps3 and it works great. You guys rock, you now have a new customer; thank you
It's a ps3 - what is there to say.they've been out quite awhileMy son plays online all the time, that's a nice feature.the wireless controllers are probaly the best feature and they hold their charge a long time and recharge quickly. they won't charge without the console on, and it tends to overheat if you leave it on too long.the games are expensive, but you know that going in.the graphics are not over the top compared to ps2 like you'd expect for all the hype and the enormous price - and they don't seem to be cranking out that many impressive games.the dvd player feature is nice, and it plays dvd or bluray, but even though I have a 16:9 high def big screen, the top and bottom are always cut off. Can't say I have been that impressed with BluRay - seems overhyped. Was supposed to get several free BluRay movies with purchase of the unit, and never got them. Introductory offer and all.The bluray/dvd feature and the large collection of ps2 games we already had are why I chose it over XBox.Don't worry about 80 gb, I can't imagine you'd ever need that much unless you use the unit like a PC.
